    • Make your holey sweaters wearable again with darning. Learn how to repair holes in knitwear by darning a hole by hand and with a Speedweve-style darning loom. This two hour class will guide you through the process of creating and darning a rectangular patch with yarn. You will learn the best tools and materials for repairing knitwear with darning. Bring your own wool or cashmere sweater with a 1” hole or smaller to repair!
    • Medium - chunky knit sweaters are preferred without intricate designs. Wool and cotton yarns and tools will be provided. If you don’t have a sweater to repair, Nandi will have knit swatches for practicing the techniques.
    • A darning loom will be available for use during class and can be purchased for $65.

This two hour class will guide you through the process of creating and darning a rectangular patch with yarn. You will learn the best tools and materials for repairing knitwear with darning. Bring your own sweater with a 1” hole or smaller to repair!
    • Beginner/advanced beginner. Knowledge of knit fabric (what knit/purl means) is beneficial, but not mandatory.
    • Included: Two skeins of DMC Eco Vita 360 100% wool yarn or 6-ply cotton thread (your choice of color). A $4 value!
    • Not included: tapestry needles, thread snips. You can bring your own or purchase these at the shop. Bring your own medium - chunky knit sweater with a 1” hole at most. Wool, cashmere, or cotton sweaters are preferred. If you bring a cotton sweater we will provide 2 DMC cotton embroidery threads of your choice. If there’s time, we will start working on larger holes.
