Darn your clothes a little bit faster with a darning loom. These little tools are recreations of vintage Speedweves. From what I could find, Speedweves were first manufactured during the '40's and '50s when mending your clothes was a part of life. These tools have had a resurgence in the past few years with a couple independent sellers recreating the tool.
I've sourced the 14-hook loom from Europe.
14-hook loom includes:
- 14-hook metal loom
- 2.5" diameter wooden darning disc
- a few rubber bands
There are 3 parts for the 21-hook loom. The metal part and metal spring is sourced from Europe. The wood darning disc was made by a Chicago woodworker who uses reclaimed materials. Includes an extra upcycled knit jersey fabric to use as an elastic.
21-hook loom includes:
- 21-hook metal loom
- strong metal spring
- upcycled knit jersey fabric to use as an elastic
- 3.5" diameter wooden darning disc
